Photobook Publisher Research

Whilst deciding on what publisher to use to print I came across this link which rates all the best known online photobook publishers:

Blurb:
Verdict
Pros… Lots of flexibility, easy-to-use software, speedy delivery.
Cons… ProLine paper lacks sharpness, pricy express delivery.
WE say… Blurb offers the best software in the group, making laying a page out a doddle.
Score: 4/5

Bob Books:
Verdict
Pros… Nice finish, lay-flat pages, accurate colours.
Cons… You have to add eight pages at a time.
WE say… The best combination of book quality and ease of use of all those on test.
Score: 5/5

Abelli

Verdict
Pros… Print quality is good. Easy-to-use software.
Cons… You need to pay extra for a photo cover or lay-flat binding.
WE say… A decent compromise between book size, print quality and easy-to-use software.
Score: 4/5

Photoleaf

Verdict
Pros… Thick paper, excellent colour reproduction, lays flat.
Cons… Hard to align photos and text, some design problems.
WE say… The thick paper won’t be to everybody’s tastes, but it certainly creates impact.
Score: 4/5

Yo Photo

Verdict
Pros… Super quick delivery, good colour reproduction.
Cons… Spine a little loose, no choice of papers.
WE say… A a good combination of speedy production/delivery and decent image quality.
Score: 4/5

Loxely colour

Verdict
Pros… High quality print and finish, easy-to-use software.
Cons… Doesn’t lay flat, small but costs more than the others.
WE say… Excellent colour reproduction and a professional finish comes at a high price.
Score: 4/5


After looking at all the options I would say that Blurb provides the qualities I need the most which is ease of use and speed. Plus a lot of people I know have used the services and they rate them very highly
