Day 5 of shooting

Day 5
Last night I worked out that I won’t make the deadline if I continued to go at the pace I’m currently going but I won’t get the same standard of images if I speed up, so I’ve made the decision that I will skip out the 30mile section between Marrick and Northallerton because I believe that the east coast is a much more important thing to cover because without it I clearly wouldn’t be doing a coast to coast journey.

Even though I’ve cut a decent 5 hour section of photographing time out of my journey, the distance from Ingleby Cross (which is my new starting point about 10 minutes north east from Northallerton) to Robin Hood’s bay is about 45 miles over the North Yorkshire moors which is a lot of distance to photograph in one day. To help myself out I’ve decided to get up early again so I can go to Robin Hoods Bay at sun rise so I have more time in the day to cover the remaining area west of the bay, and still have time to start thinking about making a practice book.

So today’s final session of photographing was alright but I was pretty annoyed with myself that I had left such a big section to do in such a small amount of time which reflected in my images. I could have had another 7 or 8 images of locations in between the ones I’ve got which would have created a better sense of the journey that I’ve undertaken if I had another day to spare. However I did get some decent images and I managed to try some panoramic images which turned out surprisingly well.
